  2. North Bay Camera Club on flickr - what is it?

    It is a forum for discussion and sharing with members. To join the group, North Bay Camera Club members need a (free) Yahoo "account", (obtaining a username and password). If you have an account already that is good. Once you have an account you can join Flickr (free or pro version) using that information. The group is open to the public to view, but to join the group people will require permission from an administrator. This is all done online, on the website. There are literally thousands of specialist Flickr Groups dedicated to photography, North Bay Camera Club is one such group. You can upload your pictures for the galleries, we can run competitions, discuss techniques and many other things. you can download a Flickr tutorial here.

  4. What does the small print say?

    THE SMALL PRINT - Please note that all the content and images on this website are copyright protected material. The ownership of that copyright rests with the photographer or the originating author (even if the image or text does not have a copyright mark attached) ©.  Images or other content cannot be used “for free” without express permission. If you would like to use images, please contact us and we will pass your request to the copyright owner.

  5. Can i take a picture of people in the street?

    “Ontario does not have an Act which grants it's citizens ownership of their image, likeness, voice, or other attributes. Other provinces may have this kind of act, however, the Privacy Act of Ontario does not protect these rights. This does not mean that model releases are not be required, since the model could sue you under Civil law.”
    But, it looks like street photography of peoples faces IS completely legal for non-commercial means. And also for any editorial commercial purposes without model releases.

  7. What web browsers can i use

    This Site has been tested against the following browsers: Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome.
    Minimum supported screen size is 1024 x 768.
    Sadly we are not able to fix browser issues, we prefer to be involved in photography.

  8. I cannot read the text on this site

    The text on this site may be hard to read, if you have a problem please let us know and we will see what is the best way forward.

  9. When did the camera club open?

    15th May 2009 was the first day of club activity. A short while ago in Sid and Andy were looking for a camera club in North Bay, Ontario, neither of us could find a club to join. Eventually we met and decided to start a club for photographers in the area. This web site is the first step in a long journey, we hope it will be an enjoyable trip.

  10. What is the web site used for?

    This web site is a focal point for the new club, a place to provide information to members and the general public.
    Thanks to all the people who have contacted us after seeing the posters in North Bay.

  11. Please tell me about your meetings?

    Our meetings take place all year, there will not be a summer break. The initial meetings will be social and in the start up phase we will meet every two weeks. Meetings will be scheduled on a weekday evening as many people are busy at the weekend.
